Bloom Expansion Conflicts
Date: 2700-2750
Location: Main Belt, Jovian approaches, Lagrange habitat chains
Primary actors: Aeronautics Unlimited, Orbital Forge, SolEx, Pan-Solar Consortium, independent habitat builders
The Bloom Expansion Conflicts were less a single war than a rolling series of permit disputes, sabotage campaigns, enclosure fights, and standards battles over who would control the explosive growth of cavity-habitat civilization. As Bloom technology became the dominant way to make habitable volume, every serious power realized that controlling Bloom deployment meant controlling where future populations could emerge.
Orbital Forge pushed open standards and rapid frontier iteration. SolEx and allied bureaucracies demanded tighter licensing and property clarity. Aeronautics Unlimited tried to have both: enough openness to keep expansion fast, enough control to make it profitable.
The conflicts ended without a final clean settlement. Instead they normalized a more mobile, more fragmented, and more politically volatile concept of territory across the solar system.
