Tycho Exclusion Riots

Date: 2637-2638
Location: Tycho Crater clinic districts, Luna
Primary actors: Finch Cybernetics, rejected augment recipients, service technicians, Bio-Purists, enhancement-rights activists

The Tycho Exclusion Riots erupted when Finch-tier continuity and maintenance protections were denied to lower-status augmentation recipients after a firmware cascade threatened the company’s premium service capacity. Patients who had been sold the language of dignified integration discovered that dignity had contractual strata.

Rioting began outside triage checkpoints and escalated when service technicians leaked evidence showing that lower-tier patients had been knowingly deprioritized. Bio-Purists exploited the unrest to attack augmentation clinics, while enhancement-rights advocates turned it into a broader indictment of posthuman class structure.

Finch survived the crisis, but only by becoming more explicit about tiering, liability, and the political cost of refined exclusion.
