Purity in flesh, progress in chains
Bio-Purists oppose biodrones and heavily engineered systems of living labor. They object to growing dependent castes for work or war, arguing that this degrades the social order and makes it unstable.
That objection does not necessarily extend to hierarchy or human enhancement. Many Bio-Purists accept disciplined human enhancement while rejecting the manufacture of people or organisms for assigned labor and military roles. Their opposition need not imply a demand for equality.
Bio-Purism therefore appears among both austere authoritarian blocs and anxious worker constituencies. It is less a complete political ideology than a recurring response to the fear that life has become too easy to manufacture.
