Enhancement Liberals are a movement defending people’s right to change their bodies and minds. They oppose bans driven by fear or ideas of bodily purity, and restrictions that make ancestry a condition of access. They also oppose monopolies that reserve augmentation for those wealthy enough to afford it: permission to alter your body means little if the price puts it out of reach.
This brings them into both alliances and conflicts with premium companies such as Finch Cybernetics. They can support a firm’s defence of bodily autonomy while challenging its prices, restrictions on repair, and arrangements that make patients dependent on one provider. A person may be free to choose an implant yet unable to afford its upkeep or change providers without risking essential function. Enhancement Liberals insist that the right to change oneself must extend to the practical ability to obtain and maintain those changes.
