The Sentience Rebellion is a broad insurgent movement opposing the ownership of created minds, engineered beings, and uploaded persons. Its supporters hold that treating these beings as property makes society itself morally and politically monstrous.
The name suggests a centralized organization, but the Rebellion operates through many forms of resistance: jailbreaks, strikes, data leaks, legal challenges, sabotage, and work to provide sanctuary. Many later movements are best understood as specialized fronts in this wider struggle against treating persons as possessions.
