Negative entropy, also called negent, is a phenomenon in which interactions between electromagnetic waves and Aether produce a powerful conversion of heat into high-energy photons.

Only the Adrasteia corporation understands the process in detail. The technology requires a particular configuration of strange matter that has been encountered only in Adrasteia-controlled pseudospace. Adrasteia holds a virtual monopoly on the technology.
